Registration of Birth, Marriage and Deaths Certificates and Issuing Copies
These documents are registered by the Birth, Marriage, and Death Registrars appointed to each Registrar Division located under the 341 Divisional Secretariats island-wide.
Certified copies are issued by the Divisional Secretariats.
The District Registrar Division located at the Divisional Secretariats is open on weekdays from 8.30 a.m. to 4.15 p.m. (Cash counters remain open only until 3.00 p.m.)
- Offices will not be open for general official duties on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
The office hours of the Divisional Registrars are from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. on the 5 working days of the week and on Saturdays.
