When applying for a license for an additional language, one must have a credit pass for the said language at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination
Documents to be submitted,
- An application accurately completed in clear handwriting.application
- A copy of the original license.
- The original and a photocopy of the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination certificate with a credit pass for the relevant language (This copy must be certified as a true copy by a Staff Officer of the Registrar General's Department or a Land Registrar).
- If applying for the Sinhala language, the yellow-colored examination certificate obtained directly from the Department of Examinations and a copy thereof.
- A photocopy of the National Identity Card
- An affidavit to that effect if there is a discrepancy between the name on the examination certificate and the notary license.
- A letter of request to include the new address if it differs from the address mentioned in the first certificate.
- The receipt for the payment of Rs. 3,000/- made to the Department's Shroff as the fee for each language applied for, or the green-colored receipt for the amount credited to Account No. 7039827 in the name of the Registrar General at a Bank of Ceylon branch.
